Why was an FIR registered against Kangana Ranaut?
The Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court had directed the Mumbai Police to take necessary action against the pair of sisters under the relevant provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code. Casting director and fitness trainer Munnarawali Syed had filed a complaint before the court accusing Kangana of ‘trying to spread hatred and communal tension’.
Syed alleged that the ‘Queen’ actress has been trying to discredit the Hindi film industry for the last two months. He also referred to Kangana’s tweet in which he compared Mumbai with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. His tweet sparked controversy and sparked a heated debate with the Shiv Sena. In his complaint, Syed also accused Rangoli Chandel of making ‘objectionable remarks’ on social media. For the unrestricted, Rangoli’s Twitter handle was suspended in April 2020 for violating the rules.
According to ABP News correspondent Ganesh Thakur, Kangana has been asked to appear for investigation on Monday (October 26). Rangoli has been called on Tuesday (27 October).
