Sandeep Lamichane of Nepal, the well-known leg-spinner of T20 cricket, has been found positive in the Corona virus investigation two weeks before the start of the Big Bash League. Lamichan is scheduled to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL. Twenty-year-old Lamichhane was in the Delhi Capitals team in the Indian Premier League.
He tweeted, ‘It is my duty to tell you all that I have been found positive in the Corona virus investigation. I had body pain since Wednesday but am feeling better now. If everything goes well, I will return to the ground. Remember in prayers.
LaMichane has performed brilliantly in the BBL for the Melbourne Stars but he tied up with the Hurricanes for the upcoming season. He is the first cricketer from Nepal to join the IPL with Delhi Capitals in 2018. However, he did not play a single match in the 13th season of the IPL, which ended this month in the UAE.
Lamichane will not be able to play the opening four matches of BBL. He will arrive in Australia in mid-December and will remain in Quarantine for two weeks. He will be available for the match with the Brisbane Heat at Hurricanes on 27 December. He has played for the Melbourne Stars in the previous two seasons of BBL.
