This one originated from practically anywhere. Someday, not much was said or heard about the brilliant Lives of Bollywood wives leading to the Friday release of the realistic web series. Although the promo of this Karan Johar production was released a few days ago, it is expected to be a lot in terms of the followings. Of course, there was increased visibility around the show last week when Madhur Bhandarkar took to the title of Netflix’s offering on social media challenging the use of the title of his upcoming film Bollywood Housewife. All ended well, when Karan Johar too took to social media and apologized. Along with Madhur Bhandarkar sharing his side of the story, the chapter closes even further and eventually all ends peacefully.
Meanwhile, reviews are still thinking about the ‘luxurious life’ of women – Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, Neelam Kothari Soni and Seema Khan. The wives of Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Sameer Soni and Sohail Khan are the high-flying women of Mumbai high society respectively and to know the lives and times of those who love in the world of glamor is something exciting in the offering.
There is also a section of the audience, he said, that shows the whole idea of this life on screen, and therefore can be expected to be nervous in his criticism.
On the other hand, in a time when crime thrillers are the order of the day, yet another web series involving drama and politics involving the genre, OTT platforms were submerged several times a week. Upon the arrival of ZEE5 and ALT Balaji, Sumit Vyas led the Dark 7 White, a black horse on the small screen, with some good entertainment quotient in it.
As the promo indicated, it was a whodunit in an offering and to the good credit of the web series, it managed to retain suspense until the big reveal. Of course, the liberal use of the words cos as well as sexually explicit scenes meant that viewers were banned for Dark 7 White. However, for an adult audience, the offering contained 3 hours of quick-fire entertainment. A ‘masala’ series directed by Satwik Mohanty, it was always meant to be taken with a pinch of salt, courtesy of its various twists and curves, but then it did its job.
There is a lot on the OTT medium this week, starting with a double bill offering on the Direct to OTT release of ZEE5, the web series Naxalbari and the Hindi film It’s My Life. On the other hand, Bhaag Beni Baig is also coming on Netflix.
Naxalbari, as the name suggests, is the story of the Naxalites and the battles that are being fought every day between them and the forces. Arriving at ZEE5, it is yet another web-series offering every week from the OTT channel, which has been relentless in churning out new content at a much faster pace despite the lockdown. Starring Rajeev Khandelwal alongside Tina Dutta, Sreejita Dey, Satyadeep Mishra and Aamir Ali, Naxalbari is expected to create an intense affair that should work for those who like their drama.

The filmmaker has shown his mettle with Ajay Devgan and Kajol starrer Pyaar Toh Hona Hi, which can bring on some good romantic music. However, Herman Baweja and Genelia D’Souza are seeing an excited arrival for themselves in a pivotal role alongside starrer Nana Patekar, expected to be through a smile.
Swara Bhaskar on the other hand, who has already seen a couple of web series coming on the OTT platform this year [Rasbhari, Flesh], The next part will be seen in the Beni part. It is about a woman who does not come to a decision in her life. While Swara has experimented with action and erotica this year, it will be interesting to see how she does comedy with the Beg Beine part. However the woman has good expectations from this Netflix web series as this zone has performed well with Veere Di Wedding.
