The head coach and chief selector of Pakistan, Misbah Ul Haq, wants the training camps to begin at the earliest, given the tour of England. But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is struggling to make arrangements for this, which may lead to delay in its conduct.
A board source said that the board had plans to invite 30 to 35 players to the camp. Out of these, 25 players were selected for the possible England tour to be held in July / August, where Pakistan has to play three Tests and three T20 Internationals.
“It is a headache for the PCB to arrange the camp as Lahore National Cricket Academy does not have facilities to accommodate officials with more than thirty players,” the source said. The source said that Misbah and the board agreed that all the players would go to a safe place at the same time and stay there until the team left for the tour of England.
The source said, 'The idea is that the players will stay at NCA and train in groups and use the facilities of the academy for training and net practice. But the problem is to hold such a large number of players and officials together.
Misbah has made it clear that the players will not be able to go home once they come to the academy and will not be able to meet any outsiders other than the players involved in the training.
