Kerala Blasters goalkeeper Prabhushan Gill set up a special gym at home to keep himself fit during the first nationwide lockdown, as a defense against the corona virus. He assembled different devices for this which helped him stay fit. Gill, who was part of the Indian team that played in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017, said that this gym is very special.
Gill built this gym at his residence in Sarabha, Punjab. He told the All India Football Federation (AIFF), “As soon as it became clear that the lockdown (March 2020) was going on, my brother (Gursimrat) and I thought of building a gym at home. We bought as much equipment as we could in such a short time, and built a gym in our home. '
He said, “At least 200 kilos of equipment is in my house right now – like rods, different weight plates, dumbbells, medicine balls, etc.”
Gill said, “There was a lot of frustration at the start of the lockdown. It was normal to take things lightly at the time of lockdown but my brother and I felt that if we would be sitting like this then it would do nothing good. So we kept our body fit as far as possible by gathering equipment. '
