Maxwell is the same player whose IPL 2020 was not good. After this, he was released for the auction by Punjab Kings. Despite poor performance last season in the IPL, RCB exuded confidence on the player and added to it by paying huge sums of money.

In the current IPL, Maxwell has so far been able to live up to the expectations of his franchise. Former Indian cricket team opener Virender Sehwag has also been critical of Maxwell earlier. This season Maxwell has scored a total of 176 runs in the first three games with a strike rate of around 150 with two fifties.
