Jio Platforms added about 10 million new customers in the quarter ended 30 June 2020. With this, the total number of subscribers of the company has reached 398 million. Jio released its quarterly data which showed an 182.8 per cent net profit growth over the same quarter last year. Despite the corona virus epidemic, the service provider managed to gain a large number of new users and year-on-year growth. The company also launched the Jio POS-Lite app during this time.
In the first quarter performance report for 2020-2021, Reliance Jio has gained. Jio added 9.7 million new subscribers in the quarter. However, compared to the January-March 2020 quarter, these customers are less, as the company had created 1.75 crore new customers in the January-March quarter.

Jio has maintained an edge in its user base by launching the Jio POS-Lite app. This app was launched in April. Through this app, users can recharge the second number and get 4.16 percent commission. Apart from this, the company also increased the incoming call validity for all its users during the lockdown.

Jio also recently announced the introduction of the Made in India 5G solution. Trial will start as soon as 5G spectrum becomes available in India and next year this technology will be ready for field deployment.
