Rohit Sharma, the star opener of the Indian cricket team and captain of the Mumbai Indians team, which won the IPL title for the fifth time, has praised the BCCI for the successful and safe conduct of the 13th season of the IPL amid the Corona virus epidemic in the UAE. The 13th season of the IPL was initially scheduled to be held in India from the end of March, but had to be postponed indefinitely following the outbreak of the corona virus.
It was then held from 19 September to 10 November at three locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. After nearly 60 days of fighting, Mumbai defeated Delhi Capitals on 10 November to capture the fifth defeat title. Delhi team reached the final for the first time.
Rohit tweeted, ‘I commend the commitment and discipline of IPL and BCCI members for organizing the 13th season of IPL. Apart from this, I also salute all the eight franchisees for keeping the players safe for their families.
It is worth mentioning that in the title match, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets and won their 5th title. In this match, Rohit Sharma played a half century while playing the captaincy innings.
