Sandalwood drug case: Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law properties raided

Accelerating its investigation in the Sandalwood drug case, the Bangalore City Police’s Central Crime Bureau on Tuesday raided the properties of Bollywood star, Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law, Vivek Oberoi and son of the late minister, Jeevaraj Alva.

Aditya Alva has been absconding ever since the police raided the residence of Chandan star Ragini Dwivedi. He was sent to 14 days judicial custody on Monday and is in Parappana Agrahara Jails on the outskirts of the city.

Police said they are conducting raids at the resorts owned by Aditya, where he allegedly held weekend parties. It is said that many film stars of Kannada film industry have participated in these parties.

According to the CCB, Aditya has named the fifth accused in the case. He comes from a highly influential family background. His late father, Jivanraj Alva, was considered one of the most powerful ministers and leaders of his time. He was considered the right hand man of the late Chief Minister, Ramakrishna Hegde.

The late Jeevaraj Alva was known for his organizing skills, in addition to his fundraising skills, which are still recalled by his contemporaries from the Janata Parivar. It was Janata Parivar’s Friday in those days.

Aditya’s mother, Nandini Alva is also an iconic figure in the state. She is a renowned dancer and event organizer. She was one of the founding members of the Bengaluru Habba (Bengaluru Fest), which was launched between 1999-2004 during the tenure of the then Chief Minister SM Krishna. This also helped Bengaluru to showcase its cultural talent.

Apart from this, Aditya is also the brother-in-law of Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi.
