Sanjay Manjrekar said on Rohit Sharma’s fitness, currently zero clearance, BCCI will decide soon

new Delhi
Former Indian team batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has said that the situation is not clear yet about Rohit Sharma’s fitness. Rohit was not selected in any of the three teams on the Australia (AUS vs IND) round. However, Rohit was later included in the Test team. He has been rested in ODIs and T20 series. Rohit Sharma fitness complained of muscle strain in the IPL, but the BCCI is still quiet about his injury while he has told the condition of the rest of the injured players.

Speaking to a YouTube channel, Manjrekar said, ‘The situation is not clear at all about Rohit’s fitness. I am confident that the BCCI will have a stand on this and so will Rohit. When people do not get the information, then the speculation attack starts. So I have no idea what is going on. ‘

However, Rohit also played for Mumbai in the IPL after the injury. He also earned the team a 5th IPL title by scoring a half-century in the final. After this, on Monday, BCCI included Rohit in the Test team while giving approval to Paternity Leave to captain Virat Kohli. Kohli will return home after the first match of the four-match Test series against Australia.

Manjrekar feels that four-five players should get a chance to tour Australia due to injury or any other reason. He said, “When the team is announced for a long tour like Australia, we think this team will play.” But as things happen we will know that by the end of the tour, the players who are in India will be playing in Australia.

He said, ‘I have no doubt that Rohit will play if he gets fit. Suryakumar Yadav will also get a chance as a replacement if a player is injured, as is usually the case on tour. Suryakumar scored 480 runs this time in the IPL, and became the team’s victory. The selection committee was severely criticized by many for not including him in the Australian tour.
