Sonu has appeared in the PETA India print campaign, a vegetarian supporter who participated in the group’s “Hug a Vegetarian” Day, and supported a social media appeal to further promote McDonald’s to add McDonald’s burgers to its menu. He also rescued an injured pigeon while playing cricket with his son.
A cookbook shared by the organization prompted Shraddha to give up meat. The actress never misses an opportunity to speak for animals.
“Sonu Sood and Shraddha Kapoor are helping to change the world every time they sit down to eat,” says Sachin Bangera, director of Celebrity and Public Relations, PETA India.
Bangera said: “Fruits and vegetables never cause an epidemic, and PETA India is honoring to live by giving the example of Sood and Kapoor and encouraging its fans to make carnivore a ‘new normal’ is.”
Past winners of the award include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amitabh Bachchan, Manushi Chillar, Sunil Chhetri, Anushka Sharma, Karthik Aryan, Vidyut Jamwal, Kangana Ranaut, Shah Rukh Kapoor, Rekha.
