Australia's batsman Steve Smith said on Monday that he would be ready to play the IPL if the T20 World Cup in October-November is postponed. The deadly Corona virus epidemic has clouded the T20 World Cup in Australia.
The BCCI wants IPL to be held in September-October which has been postponed due to Corona epidemic. Rajasthan Royals captain Smith said that he is ready to go to India to play IPL after getting permission from Australian Government.

Smith said, “There is nothing better for the country than playing the World Cup. Definitely I would prefer the World Cup but if it gets postponed and the IPL is organized then I am ready to play in this T20 league. '
He said, “The situation is beyond our control.” We are doing what we are being told. '
There were reports that Cricket Australia has asked the ICC to postpone the T20 World Cup by 2021. A decision in this regard will be taken at the ICC meeting on 10 June.
Smith, who has played 81 matches in the IPL so far, said, “I haven't thought about it.” We will follow the advice of professionals and the government. Cricket has become irrelevant at the moment in the world. We will return when the time is right and we are asked. Till then one needs to remain physically and mentally strong. '
