Shovik Chakraborty gets bail: Riya Chakraborty’s brother gets relief in NCB drugs case after 3 months
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had earlier arrested people from the industry, including Riya Chakraborty, Shovik Chakraborty, comedians Bharti Singh, Harsh Limbachia and others.
As per the latest update, NCB has reportedly arrested Bollywood makeup artist and hairstylist Suraj Godambe. Based on a PTI report, Suraj Godambe and another man identified as an auto-rickshaw driver named Lalchandra Yadav were arrested after seizing ‘small quantities’ of cocaine from their possession. The agency on Wednesday raided Meera Tower in Oshiwara area of suburban Andheri and allegedly seized 16 drug packets weighing 17.6 grams from their possession.
“Godambe is the receiver of drugs in this case, while Yadav is the supplier,” an official quoted PTI as saying. Yadav supplied cocaine on behalf of a ‘Nigerian syndicate’. The officer further revealed that both were arrested after questioning and produced in a Mumbai court. The court remanded the accused to NCB custody till 16 December.
Meanwhile, NCB has been conducting searches in Mumbai since Tuesday and reportedly recovered Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 13.51 lakh in cash during the search. The agency has also arrested two persons including drug peddler Rigel Mahakal in the drugs case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
