Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Uttar Pradesh’s third consecutive defeat, Jammu and Kashmir won on Samad’s own

On the back of an unbeaten 54-run knock by Abdul Samad, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, Jammu and Kashmir in the Elite Group-A match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T-20 tournament played at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Bengaluru on Thursday Defeated by eight wickets.

It is the third consecutive defeat of Uttar Pradesh in three matches and the team is at the bottom of the table. This is J&K’s second win in three matches and is at number two with eight points.

UP batting first scored 124 runs for five wickets. For the team, captain Priyam Garg scored 35, Shubham Choubey 28, Madhav Kaushik 26 and Aryan Juyal scored 22 not out.

Mujtaba Yusuf took three and Abid Mushtaq and Abdul Samad took one wicket each from Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir, chasing the target of 125 runs from Uttar Pradesh, achieved this by losing two wickets in 15 overs.

Samad hit two fours and four sixes in 35 balls. Shubham Khajuria contributed 34 not out and Kamran Iqbal contributed 17 runs. Mohsin Khan had both successes from Uttar Pradesh.
