Middle-order batsman Vishnu Solanki hit Baroda with a four and a six off the final three balls during his unbeaten half-century innings to give Baroda a thrilling 8-wicket win over Haryana in the quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament. Haryana had scored 148 runs for seven wickets.
He looked in a position to defend his score, but it was Vishnu Solanki who hit his last ball for six to propel his team to the semi-finals.
Actually, Baroda needed 23 runs in the last two overs. Captain Mohit Sharma conceded only five runs in the 19th over. Now Baroda needed 18 runs in the last over. The Baroda batsmen scored three runs off the first three balls, after which they needed 15 runs off the last three balls.
