Veteran actor and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan raised slogans against those who tarnished the image of the Indian film industry in the Upper House of Parliament, with actor Taapsee Pannu endorsing the statements of the lawmaker.

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha also praised Bachchan’s statement and said it looked like a “spine”.
Sinha tweeted, “I wish Jaya ji all the best. Those who don’t know can see that it is the backbone.”

Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan had given zero hours notice in the Upper House over an alleged plot to defame the film industry.
She said that people working in the entertainment industry are “liars” by social media.
