The new feature allows users to chat with anyone before a match in a low-stakes session called the feature, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
As the timer counts down, users will choose whether they want to pair as a match or let the timer run out to meet someone new.
Tinder CEO Jim Lanzon said that – “In the post-Covid world a new generation of daters are asking for more of us – more ways to show our authentic selves, more ways to have fun and interact with others and this More control over who they meet on Tinder and how they communicate.”
Lots of new features on the app
The company has also rolled out a series of new features, including the introduction of video within Tinder profiles, which continue to expand the possibilities of online dating.
According to the company, the video gives Gen Z a new way to tell their authentic stories and reflects the evolution of Tinder into a multi-dimensional experience that looks like dating in 2021.
It has also announced a new Explore section that allows members to navigate by interest, activity or content type. The all new social experience will give members new ways to find the right person.
