Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan has praised Indian captain Virat Kohli. Junaid described him as the best batsman in the world in all formats. Junaid said Kohli's consistency puts him ahead of Babar Azam, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson.
“There is no doubt that Kohli is the best batsman in all the three formats,” Junaid said in a video uploaded on CricinGIF's YouTube channel. If you ask anyone, he will say that Babar Azam, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith are the best in the world at the moment but above all these are Kohli because he has been brilliant in all three formats.
In the 2012 ODI series in India, Junaid dismissed Kohli thrice. To this, he said, 'Before that tour I was playing cricket in Faisalabad. I was throwing 35-40 overs in one day, which gave me the required rhythm for the series. I was returning from that series in ODIs. Before leaving for India I was thinking that this is the only chance for me to come back.
He said, 'I was permanent in the Test team but I had to return in ODIs. The second thing was that I knew that to come back I would have to take wickets against India. Junaid said, 'The first ball I threw to him was that wide. He was beat on the next ball. I thought he was a common batsman. After this I got a rhythm. '
He said, “Virat had told me before the series that these are Indian pitches and the ball doesn't swing or seam much here. I said let's see because I was in a good rhythm.” Junaid has played 22 Tests, 76 ODIs and nine T20 matches for Pakistan with 71, 110 and nine wickets respectively.
