Virat Kohli has held several records so far. The captain of Indian cricket is already counted among the great players. His hunger to score runs steadily increases. Along with scoring consecutive runs, Kohli's aggression compares him to many former captains.

Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee feels that Kohli's captaincy is very much similar to former Australia captain Ricky Ponting.

Lee said in a special interview to our colleague TimesOf India.com, “Everyone's captaincy is different. If you look at Ricky Ponting and Virat Kohli, you will find that there is a lot of similarity between their captaincy. Both are aggressive, but they also know its limits. '

Lee said, 'There have been occasions when all captains become very aggressive. But I enjoy watching Kohli's captaincy. Because his captaincy is full of passion. He wants to do well for the team.

Kohli comes down on the field with full passion. Along with this, his loyalty towards fitness has also led the team in that direction. Under Kohli's captaincy, the Indian team has achieved success in all three formats.

Kohli took Test captaincy from Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the year 2014 and in January 2017 he also became the limited overs captain.

Under Kohli's captaincy, India defeated Australia in the Test series on their own soil. He became the first Asian captain to do so.

Lee, who played 76 Tests and 221 ODIs and 25 T20 Internationals for Australia, has played against Saurabh Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni Kohli. He also expressed his opinion on the difference in captaincy of the three.

Lee said, 'I have played against Dhoni and Ganguly. He was a different captain. His way was to take a little quiet captaincy. But he was very effective. You should try the method that works for you and get the best out of your players. But there are some people who are very good team managers. He handles his team talent quite well. Actually, this is the job of the captain. The captain should be a good leader. Players can take inspiration from him and respect him and Ganguly, Dhoni and Kohli are undoubtedly the same.

If you talk about batting, then Virat does not see any harm. Since his international cricket debut since 2008, he has scored more than 20 thousand international runs. This includes 70 centuries. He is just seven steps away from breaking the record of 49 ODI centuries by Sachin Tendulkar.

Lee added, 'Apart from Kohli's captaincy, the way he performs with the bat is amazing. It is also like Ricky Ponting. They have aggression but not excessively. It has a good balance. Talking about captaincy, there are many similarities between them. Along with this, he has the art of identifying players' abilities. If you look at what fielding Ricky Ponting used to do. He was very aggressive in it. I have seen the same with Kohli. Kohli loves to attack.
