India and Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan is training hard ahead of the second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 in the UAE.
On Wednesday, 15 September, Mumbai Indians posted a video on Instagram in which Ishan Kishan is practicing catches behind the wicket. Kishan is training former Indian team wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel.
In the beginning of the video, Ishaan Kishan is practicing a catch outside the off-stump by a spinner. Patel then handed the ball to throwdown expert Anmol and got Kishan practiced.
He said, ‘Anmol is throwing a half volley at normal speed on the leg side. I stand like a normal left handed batsman. As soon as he bowls I will switch like a right-handed batsman.
This tested Ishaan’s footwork. Patel kept changing his position continuously. The Jharkhand wicketkeeper looked a bit uncomfortable with his footwork, though he looked quite tired after the practice was over.
Kishan said, ‘I am feeling tired like a gym session.’ At the end of the session, Kishan ended up taking a straight catch with the bat. 23-year-old Kishan said, “You don’t have to catch a lot of catches in these kind of keeping drills but such short sessions are a lot of hard practice.”
